We do not seem to have many useful magazines for pro am filmmakers in the UK and  the rest of Europe, or at least they are not on the shelves in the popular stores, so I put together on this page a few that are available world wide in the traditional or digital format.  Tony

DVuser.co.uk is the UK’s premier free online interactive DV magazine. DVuser is aimed at those who are serious about DV production who have read the beginner magazines found on the shelves of WHSmith and who now want to take it to the next level with a view to making a living from the profession, perhaps by setting yourself up as an independent production company to shoot Corporate Videos, Special Interest Videos (SIVs), Weddings, Training or Infomercial DVDs or perhaps to shoot an independent feature or low-budget short film to screen at film festivals or maybe even distribute.

MovieMaker Magazine was founded by Timothy Rhys in Seattle, WA in 1993, and he remains publisher and editor-in-chief. The magazine’s growth over the past 20-plus years has paralleled the explosion of independent cinema as an art form and perhaps the most populist form of artistic expression among young people.

About Videomaker
Why we do what we doTo help others achieve their pursuits by using video as a common communications medium. We picture a world where people use video cameras as regularly as they use ink pens, keyboards, cameras, email, texts, printers and blogs to communicate thoughts, ideas and concepts.

You can read Filmmaker on your computer in a clickable format duplicating the print edition (same graphic design & pagination as our print issue). Your access to the online issues lasts for the duration of your subscription. You can also download the PDF versions to read offline. Downloaded PDF versions will never expire and are your forever. Digital subscriptions are valid for one year, encompassing four issues of Filmmaker.
